The Advisory Group Project Management & Consultancy provides large scale, multidisciplinary project management and consultancy to multinational clients in the sector ‘light industry’. Clients are based in the Netherlands, elsewhere in Europe and some internationally. Our goal is to achieve higher productivity and lower operating costs for our clients. Procurement is expected to make a significant contribution to this goal.

The role of Procurement and Contract Manager
The role is responsible for supporting the Project Management and Engineering teams with procurement of equipment, construction contract(s) and project services. This includes all procurement activities from formulating the procurement strategy for the project up to closing the contract(s) with preferred parties. This also includes providing procurement advice to clients directly.
The role is also responsible for developing and implementing procurement standards and best practices. You build and lead a team whilst leading by example in hands-on procurement advisory. You lead and do at the same time.
Once 3 months in the role, you are expected to deliver your feedback on and input to the current procurement manual, the procurement standards and best practices. You demonstrate knowing the team and already built some trust with key stakeholders.
At the end of your first year in the role, you are expected to have completed a specific number of client projects. In addition you have made a meaningful contribution to the procurement standards, the manual, the availability of training materials and the delivery of training sessions. And you have gained full involvement in the team, built a network of key contacts including other Royal HaskoningDHV groups and demonstrated some specific improvements in the digital ways of working.
You report into the Associate Director Project Management.
You will roughly work 50% in the office in Delft (at the campus of the Technical University) and the other 50% travelling in the Netherlands, in Europe or working from home.
Your profile
You are a bright mind with a relevant M.Sc. degree. You are pragmatic and hands on. You are a team player and self propelling. Prior to this role you gained a minimum of 5-10 years experience with procurement management and some project management. Although you are not a typical buyer, you know what makes procurement ‘good procurement’. You are familiar with standards and best practices of good procurement companies. You are familiar with working in a service model / consulting firm. Your strong internal and external stakeholder management competencies help you to get things done in a complex network organisation. You are a good negotiator and dealmaker. You have an international mindset. You are fluent in Dutch and English.

Based on your qualification for the role, you will receive a gross base salary in the range of €75-100k and pension accrual through our own pension fund. A profit sharing scheme and a personal budget are part of the package.
